Above the ink

Tattoo ink is deposited into the dermis, the second layer of skin beneath the epidermis. This is where ink remains for life, protected beneath a translucent surface layer of cells.
The epidermis is the part of your skin that sheds and renews over time, and it is the layer where all our products are designed to work.

The dermis
The second layer of skin, where tattoo ink is deposited and remains for life, protected beneath the epidermis.
Think of your skin like a framed piece of art.
The tattoo is the artwork within. The epidermis is the glass protecting it. Over time, that glass can become dry, rough, irritated or cloudy. However vivid the art underneath, it won’t look its best unless that outer surface is clean, clear and healthy.
